Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Nodko mobile application and the getnodko.app website (together, the "Service"), operated by Pavithra Kodmad (ABN 74 535 243 805), trading as Nodko ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Nodko is a home maintenance management app that helps homeowners track expenses, manage tasks, store receipts and documents, and stay on top of property upkeep. The Service is available on iOS and via the web.

2. Licence to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install, and use the Nodko app on any Apple device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This licence does not allow you to use the app on any device that you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make the app available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.

3. Accounts

  • You may create an account using email/password, Google Sign In, or Apple Sign In.
  • You may also use the app in Guest mode without creating an account. Guest data is stored locally on your device only and cannot be synced or recovered if lost. We are not responsible for any loss of Guest mode data.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

  • Nodko offers a free tier and paid subscription plans: Monthly ($4.99 AUD) and Yearly ($39.99 AUD).
  • Paid subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. At the end of the trial period, you will be automatically charged unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • All payments are processed through the Apple App Store. We do not directly handle your payment information.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.
  • We may change subscription prices from time to time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price changes. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

5. User Content

"User Content" means any data, text, images, or documents you submit to the Service, including house details, tasks, receipts, and service provider information.

  • You retain ownership of all User Content you submit.
  • You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you upload.
  • You can export or delete your User Content at any time through the app.

Email Receipt Forwarding

When you forward emails to your unique @receipts.getnodko.app address, you consent to our processing of the email content using Anthropic's Claude API to extract receipt data. The original email content is retained to provide the Service. Only forward emails that you have the right to share with us.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the Service to store content unrelated to home maintenance (e.g. using it as general cloud storage).
  • Resell, sublicence, or redistribute access to the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by Nodko and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

8. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, including the Australian Consumer Law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • Nodko is a record-keeping tool — it does not provide financial, legal, or professional home maintenance advice. Any cost tracking, vendor details, or tax-related information (such as ABN or GST) is stored for your convenience and should not be relied upon as professional advice.
  • OCR and AI processing of receipts may contain errors. You should verify extracted data for accuracy.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law), Nodko shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Australian law, including liability for fraud or for guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Nodko harmless from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third party's rights.

11. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the app. This will permanently remove all your data from our active servers.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) will continue to apply.

12. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, you agree to first attempt to resolve it informally by contacting us at privacy@getnodko.app. We will try to resolve the dispute within 30 days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will also notify you via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.

15. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, internet or telecommunications failures, power outages, government actions, or third-party service outages.

16. General

  • Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nodko regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
  • Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
  • Assignment. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms (e.g. in connection with a merger or acquisition). You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
